Cloud computing. love it? or hate it?

The future of computing. is cloud computing. wich means no more windows. no more mac os x. if were lucky maybe Linux will stay on the same road its always been on. but cloud computing? the industry seems to be heading that way. i personally hate the idea of not having an operating system. i hate the idea that every single thing on my computer will be web based. i hate the idea that i will have to not only pay my isp once a moth but also will have to pay another subsciption per application. and pay more the more i use them. thats what cloud computing will be. pc gamers? say goodbye to your pc and hello to the console. i personally hate the idea. i agree most everything we do is online so yes. i belive that we need on operationg system that caters to that. but i strongly diagree with taking the operating system as we know it out of the equation. i like a shiney user interface. i like desktop multi tasking. i like being able to play power games on my computer. in 3 to 5 years none of these things will be no more. it will all be a 3g world filld with all propietary apps that them selves also cost money. i say f**#K cloud computing as a replacment for the modern operating system. i say build an os just like the ones we know and love and just make the internet an integrated part of it. dont replace it with nuthing but aweb browser. i dont want to have to plug my computer into the internet just to get it to work. thats stupid. but thats the futre. i hate the idea. i hate it. i F*%26amp;$ing hate it. what do you guys think? am i crazy? do we want the operating system to go away? i sure dont.Cloud computing. love it? or hate it?
Heh, with a name like "hacker" one would expect you to have the slightest idea what you're talking about.

Cloud Computing isn't going to replace standard computing entirely. A Cloud OS is simply going to be an option for those that have several machines they use between work and home, and want them all to be the same. For people with only one or two machines a Cloud OS would be completely useless. My guess is that the only significant development for computers that involves the Cloud is that many users in the future will want Cloud Storage, but that doesn't affect how your computer functions at all.Cloud computing. love it? or hate it?
Not so sure about that last part, Cyclone... Take a look at the following link:
