Is cloud computing good or bad?

what are the pros and cons of cloud computingIs cloud computing good or bad?
Cloud computing is good IF you trust giving your data to someone else. AND you are usually on-line so you can access it.

With cloud computing you buy space on someone else's servers, which may or may not be backed up and secured.

On the plus side you can usually access the data from any internet connected PC. Or smartphone/tablet, depending on the data format and service.

One draw back is you ONLY can access your data online.

You also have to pay for most cloud storage each month vs. buying your own storage and managing your back ups.Is cloud computing good or bad?
Glen O man what a mush of answers. In my office we have a cloud based phone PBX system which means that it is completely internet based.

Today's buzz in cloud computing encompasses the realm of remote computer access, remote computer control, and much more (see reference below)

15 years ago it was the unknown space where data drifted until it was directed to where it needed to be. With today's communication and fiber optics the reference to cloud computing is not data oriented.

Is it good? Absolutely! especially if you remember or knew how computing and the internet was 20 years ago and yes it existed as ARPAnet (inventors.about.com/library/weekly/aa09鈥?using lynx to browse or navigate.
