What is cloud computing and how to use it?

It kind of depends on who you are. I'll explain.

If you are asking this from a "how can my company use it" perspective, that's one thing.

If you are asking from the perspective of "I'm just an individual who wants to get the most out of the internet," that's another thing.

Company/Enterprise perspective: cloud computing could be seen as the outsourcing of certain technology tasks to companies who provide the service over the web. For example, maybe your company has a large email server system in a closet somewhere that provides your company's email. You might even have a couple employees who are dedicated to keeping that system secure and running. You might choose instead to have your email servers provided by google in one of their datacenters, where they handle the system maintenance and security. You still keep the same email experience, outlook, etc., and the same domains (email@xyz.com or whatever), but the boxes with blinking lights are no longer on your premises. That's just one example.

You might also hear the term SaaS (Software as a Service). A successful company in this regard is Salesforce.com. Simply put, they make CRM software for companies, but instead of installing the software on your computer, you just access the software from the internet using a web browser.

In general, cloud solutions have subscription pricing. So you pay a license fee per user per month or some variation of that. If you were to buy your own equipment and own it all yourself instead of using the cloud, you would pay the capital cost of procuring the equipment. The cloud model usually offers a smaller, but recurring, cost of subscription. What is cloud computing and how to use it?
Cloud computing is using a server to do all the work and your computer just controls it. Sites like Google Docs, Onlive, and some other sites use there server to do all the work. Its cheaper in reality to. Since one server (or a bunch of servers in the same location) do the work, everyone can use a really cheap computer to access it.

And how to use, it depends on what your trying to do. You will more than likely have to make an account. Then it should be pretty self explanatory. What is cloud computing and how to use it?
Cloud computing is the brand-new fun way to save your documents. Instead of saving docs on a flash drive or hard-drive, you can save it on a "cloud" in the world of the internets. Examples are Google Docs and those web sites where you back up your hard-drive in case of a crash. What is cloud computing and how to use it?
It is supposed to be better than windows, I talked to a friend of mine who runs a factory and very computer wise and said it limits the applications you can run and is more expensive. The information on it can be found on line. I read the Motley Fool Article about it and I do not see it taking off any time soon.
