Let the answer be better understandable for beginners who are willing to know about 'cloud computing'.What actually mean by CLOUD COMPUTING ?
The term "Cloud Computing" is open to a certain amount of interpretation, but generally speaking, it refers to a computing environment where most of the computation, file storage, and so forth is not performed on your local computer, but rather some other computer (or bank of computers). With modern cloud computing, most activity is done via a web browser on a PC. The argument can be made that HotMail and products like it were early forms of cloud computing. Now, some very sophisticated applications are available in "the cloud", such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, etc. Some of the advertised advantages of cloud computing are location independence (if you have access ot a browser, you can compute), reduced cost in some situations, and so forth.



Those of us who have been in the computer business for a few decades simply call "Cloud Computing' "Mainframes Redux"What actually mean by CLOUD COMPUTING ?
It`s essentially the idea of using programs that are installed on a computer on the internet instead of on your own computer.



Currently,you install most programs on your own computer and run them on your own computer.Cloud computing would involve connecting to a remote server and running a program that`s installed on that server,over the internet.



The jargon term for using software in that way would be "Software-as-a-Service" (SaaS)

There is another category for using using remote hardware "Infrastructure-as-a-Service" (IaaS).And sofware developers might write their programs using "Platform-as-a-Service" (PaaS)



In a nutshell,you (or businesses) are devolving your computer work away from your desktop and onto the Internet.What actually mean by CLOUD COMPUTING ?
Cloud computing is just a way of accessing, storing, and processing data on shared servers located on the web or outside of a company. Compare that to traditional servers whereby companies have to allocate a large enough capital for hardware and server rooms.



Information, data, and software will be stored on shared servers on the web (or in the cloud so to speak) thus avoiding a large initial captial expenditure while providing savings since you'll only be paying on demand (as opposed to a fix cost).



Cloud computing can be compared to the electricity grid. Households (companies) do not have to have their own power generators (hardware, servers, etc.) to get electricity (applications, data, etc..). They just need to be connected to the grid (internet) to get electricity whenever they want and they'll only get charged for the electricity that they consume.
It's basically internet based shared resources. You don't need applications stored on your computer, you get what you need when you need it off the internet.
