that really depends on the tastes of the admin who is deploying the servers. ultimately its up to him, his experiences, and his biases what goes into his servers.
technically you could run a cloud server on any 80x86 or amd64 processor (and probably a few other architectures.). especially since there is cloud computing software for GNU/Linux and for freeBSD. you can set up your own personal server in your own home.
