What are the practical features of cloud computing? is there any scope for the same in future?

i think the implementation of cloud computing is the most hot topic in the IT industry .please clarify its features and how it can be advantageous over existing client-server model? What are the practical features of cloud computing? is there any scope for the same in future?
Hi

Well, it completely depends.

Cloud Computing will certainly help in providing additional benefits and features for phones, desktops etc but if they think replacing it with desktops, than its a very bad idea.

Google tried with Chrome OS but it completely failed.

New technologies like " Cloud Flare ", iCloud etc are certainly emerging and will emerge.

It will be used extensively, but i doubt its the future.
This can be used by consumers and businesses to use applications without installation and access their personal files at any computer with internet access. This technology allows for much more inefficient computing by centralizing storage, memory, processing and bandwidth. Cloud computing has a bright future people might not think like that but if you look into the overseas or resources business there cloud computing plays main role. What are the practical features of cloud computing? is there any scope for the same in future?
The 5-must-have-features (or characteristics) of cloud services are as follows:

---available everywhere i.e. uses Internet technologies, hassle-free, in most cases no installations/downloads etc.
---available on demand i.e. metered like your electric bills.
---can be accessed on any device i.e. device independent.
---Resource Sharing i.e. Multi-Tenant (ability of the software to be offered to multiple users),
---Scalable %26amp; Elastic i.e. capacity can be sized up or sized down with in minutes, based on demand. Your business is growing you spin up more servers %26amp; pay only for whatever you use. Come recession %26amp; if your business is shrinking use less number of servers %26amp; pay less. This is as simple %26amp; quick as a simple configuration/settings. (No need to buy infrastructure which may lie idle/unproductive once your business doesn't require them)

The above mentioned attributes differentiates the cloud services from the traditional apps.
Back in 1999, when I was in college, I had yahoo!mail. I could check my e-mail, read e-mails, and write e-mails from ANYWHERE that I could access a web browser.

This is cloud computing. And we've had it since hotmail.

Of course, the implementation is more complex when dealing with photo editting and office suites, but the principle remains the same. What are the practical features of cloud computing? is there any scope for the same in future?
Cloud computing is here and will stay ...
